How to Load custom shapes in Photoshop elements.

Photoshop Elements is a great basic program for digital scrapbooking and editing photos. You can take more advantage of it if you learn some simple steps such as how to install your own custom shapes. You may also need to be able to do this to install and use photoshop actions designed for Elements.
I have added a tutorial to my tutorials page [see tab at top of page] that will show you with screenshots how to do it the simple easy way.

Prague Astronomical Clock - 600th Anniversary Show

This is an amazing artistic event. On October 9, 2010, the Clock's 600th anniversary was celebrated with a light show on the face of the clock tower. Two 2x HD projectors, each with a 1920x1080 resolution, were used to project several animated videos on the clock. The videos showed it being built, torn down, rebuilt, and peeled away to show its internal mechanisms and the famous animated figures, as well as various events in the clock's history. The video interacted with the tower's architecture, such as rain rolling off the arch, and showing the passage of time with moving shadows.

I was lucky enough to visit Prague a few years ago and loved the clock so much at the time I was inspired when I came home to make this digital scrapbook kit. It is a little old and not my best work but I thought I would give it away to anyone who can use it.

New photos on Flickr and crochet art

I got my new Canon camera on thursday and have been playing. Can't wait till I have time to learn more about it. For now it is pretty much on auto.
I uploaded some to my album and there are some free ones if anyone has a use for them.
I also went looking at the albums of those who commented and found some awesomely interesting art. The picture of bark I posted here under textures was used by an artist. She is using it for the basis of a drawing but while you take a look check out her amazing crochet art. I really like crochet but pretty nuch do the basics. This artist however uses the craft in a whole new way. It opened up a whole new world for me.

HOW TO PHOTOGRAPH A WATER DROPLET

I was browsing on Flickr the other day and came across an awesome macro shot of a water droplet. Take a look at it here and the best part is the photographer has a tutorial on how she did it as well as lots of other great info on Digital SLR cameras on her website. She actually tells you step by step how to set up the shot.
If you have an iphone she also has an app to help you out with your photography.

Montreal

I have been lucky to be able to have a short visit over Easter to Montreal as my son now lives there. It would have been better if I didn't get a chest flu while I was there but we made the most of it. We had all sorts of weather from tiny snowflakes on the first day to ice pellets on the second and then beautiful sunshine.
My son has a great canon camera so I was able to take it with us every day and played around and nowI am addicted and when I save enough will be getting my own.
I have finally got around to starting a Flickr album so if you are interested you can take a look here. I have set the photos to not be downloaded but will have some free for you to take and I will be also adding more of my textures there for you.
If you like any and want to use them for something just contact me.

Photoshop: Smooth Skin and Airbrushing

I am often asked to edit the families photos and the main thing is getting rid of those blemishes. If you use photoshop this is worth a look. There are many different ways to work so check out a few and choose what works for you the best.

Back to the Future in Photos

I Love old photos but have you ever thought about reenacting them. I have heaps of old photos of my extended family and they are among my favourites. Irina Werning was inspired by them in her photography and has begun a project that would be interesting for everyone to try. The idea would be great as a photography project and also the basis for a scrapbook page or altered art piece.

I don't want to post images as they are copyrighted to the photographer but this is well worth taking a look at here.
